Also known as a Reams or soluble test, this test uses a mild extraction solution that has been shown to approximate the extracting ability of plant root exudates found in soil solution. The readings obtained are considered to be a good indication of the plant-available levels of fertility available to your crop at the time of testing. Experience has shown that the LaMotte Test readings will increase as the biological activity of your soil increases. The LaMotte Test readings often differ greatly from the CEC Test results. We believe the differences reflect the lack of biological activity and the potential improvement possible.
